Artist Statement

When I was a little kid I remember watching Godzilla movies. When the
movie ended I use to run to my room and look for some paper and crayons.

When I found my supplies I started drawing scene from the movies. I
loved this because I felt that I was continuing the movies on paper. I
showed my pictures to my mother and she would frame them and place them on the refrigerator. My mom was always encouraging me to continue my drawing. As a kid I never tried to draw a realistic drawing, my goal was to create something that appealed to my eyes. In high school I took some art class and end up finishing 2nd place in a school wide competition.

This experience really motivated me to work on different art mediums. I
was a youth participant at the Computer Clubhouse in the program's early days, and served as a volunteer mentor at the "Flagship" Computer Clubhouse before joining the Clubhouse staff. After participating in the Clubhouse for many years, I left the Clubhouse for about 8 months and returned as a mentor. As a mentor I felt that I was trying to fit in again so I decide that I had to go back to my artistic roots in order to communicate with some of the members. I decide to create a comic book.

That project lead to a digital comic book that for the first time made me draw an image with a mouse. As the manager of the "Flagship"
Computer Clubhouse, my day-to-day activities at Clubhouse reflect my
interest. I love working at the Clubhouse because it allows me to create art in different forms.Currently I'm working more on 3D applications. All the 3D images where created on Bryce 5.
