Dear Friend of the Computer Clubhouse,
Thank you for supporting the Computer Clubhouse. All of the art showcased in this calendar was created by Members of the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network, an after-school learning center in underserved communities where youth explore their own interests and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology. Clubhouse Members use professional technology tools to develop computer-based projects inspired by their own ideas, gaining valuable job and life skills in the process. Adult Mentors serve as role models, creating a rich and diverse learning community.
The Computer Clubhouse was founded thirteen years ago by The Computer Museum (now part of the Museum of Science, Boston) in collaboration with the MIT Media Laboratory. Using the “original” Clubhouse as a model, the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network supports community-based Clubhouses around the world, providing thousands of youth with access to resources, skills, and experiences to help them succeed in their careers, contribute to their communities, and lead outstanding lives. Today over 100 Clubhouses in 21 countries around the world are making a difference in the lives of young people.
Each Computer Clubhouse is supported through generous donations from corporations, foundations, government agencies, and individuals. Proceeds from this calendar will also support the work of the Clubhouse. I hope you enjoy your calendar and that it reminds you of the incredible things young people are capable of doing. For more information about the Computer Clubhouse, please look at our website at www.computerclubhouse.org or call (617) 589-0387. Thank you again for your support.
Sincerely,
Gail
