Mobilize, Act, Inspire!
The Computer Clubhouse is committed to helping young people make a lasting impact in their neighborhoods through brainstorming, collaboration, and community projects. In Clubhouses around the world, youth are asked to finish this sentence: If I could change one thing about the world, I would…
Here is what Mobilize, Act, Inspire! means to the Computer Clubhouse:
Mobilize: Clubhouse youth discuss issues that matter to them with peers, mentors, and coordinators and then determine a shared action plan to improve their communities. Issues include anything the young person is passionate about and might touch upon pollution, the rising cost of
education, poverty, human rights, violence in the community, HIV/AIDS, censorship, discrimination, or animal welfare. Through the Computer Clubhouse program youth begin to identify what they care about and begin to make a difference.
Act: With their peers from their local community and from Computer Clubhouses around the world, youth work together to creatively address the needs of their communities. The projects that they create may include web and graphic design, mural arts, music and video production, animation, newsletters, comics, or magazines, and robotics.
Inspire: Youth pass on their motivation to make a difference by collaborating with their peers and their neighborhood community members, working together towards a better world.
What do you care about? The world is waiting - Mobilize, Act, Inspire!
