I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Over the
years, I have been influenced be numerous sources, including fantasy and Manga
art, comic books and video games. My main tools are a pencil and a jet black
pen. All of my coloring is done in Photoshop. I think the biggest reason I
draw is that no matter what is going around me or in the world, when I pick
up a pencil it all melts away. I'm on a constant quest to improve my skills
and make the best picures possible. The Clubhouse was integral to my development,
since it's where I was first introduced to digital coloring. There's no real
rhyme or reason to my works. They're mainly mind blurbs put to paper. I usually
come to the Clubhouse nowadays to catch up with friends and help out younger
people who are just starting out.
One of the pieces I get the most comments about, because of
the drastic difference in the ink and color versions, is the one titled "Cultivation."
This picture actually has a story. In an old comic story I made a while ago,
demons representing the Psyche's Id and angels representing the Superego battled
for control of a person's soul. Upon death, if the person's soul was brought
to the darkside, he or she would become a demon. The cultivation picture is
a soul in the process of becoming a demon, still holding onto his humanity,
but barely. It appears that he is in fear of what lies outside of wherever
he is, but what he's really afraid of is that he knows that he'll soon be
part of that world.
