Cheeseyena is a virtual breed of dog. I wanted to create a dog that would move, not just sit there. When I discovered that it is possible to time and loop presentations, I started thinking why not try and see if I can use autoshapes to animate. After a series of experiments, I realized that I could create animation using PowerPoint. Finding out that I could hyperlink to other files, I thought “If I can use hyperlinks, then maybe I can have one presentation that has a variety of links, and each link represents something that Cheeseyena can do. Each action is contained within a PowerPoint presentation that can be linked to by the others.”
In the Clubhouse, a lot of members use animation software to create movement, but like me, most don’t have access to the software at home, where I designed this piece. I used my imagination to create this project, and not having access to the high end software didn’t limit me. At the Clubhouse I can explore my ideas further and with my imagination, I can design and create any time I want.
I arrived at the name ‘Cheeseyena’ for my pet when I created an animal named Cheesey, who can be seen on the wall.
